Revenge…. What’s great about revenge?

So, I have read The Devil Wears Prada over and over again since it debuted in 2003. Once the movie came out, you better believe I went the first day to see it. Albeit, movie versions of books are not the same as the original book versions, but I was quite pleased with this movie version. Now, how amazing is this?!! Lauren Weisberger is back with Revenge Wears Prada today! It takes place 10 years later after Andrea leaves “Runway” and is now editor-in-chief and part-owner of a hit bridal magazine she launched with her former Runway coworker Emily. They run into problems with Miranda and I’m sure this is going to be juicy! So, I’m off to buy my copy… Hopefully it’s as good as the first!

Designer spotlight- John Galliano

John Galliano…. What can I say about this most amazing designer? I could say so many things but there wouldn’t be enough room.

To start, the Gibraltar-born, British designer was head of two of the worlds most famous fashion houses; Givenchy and Dior. But, in March 2012 John Galliano was dismissed from Dior due to anti-Semitic remarks. He has since then re-launched is own line again with an accepted invitation from Oscar De La Renta with the help of Vogue’s Anna Wintour.

His creativeness in designing clothes is impeccable regardless of any mistakes that he may have made personally in the past. The superb tailoring and delicate detail are his trademarks along with his wild persona and fantastic runway shows

Galliano was awarded British Designer of the Year in 1987, 1994 and 1995. In 1997, he shared the award with Alexander McQueen.

He was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2001 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his services to the Fashion Industry.

John Galliano will continue to leave his mark on the fashion industry, whether you love him or hate him. I personally love his clothing, to me it’s art!

What is it with women and clothing??

I don’t know about anybody else, but when I see certain items of clothing, shoes, beauty products, they get my blood pumping and heart racing. Now maybe it’s the shopaholic in me I don’t know, but I do know I am not the only other woman out there that feels this way. One thing I know for a fact, retailers specifically target the female shopper, they know that certain woman like Moi have this wonderful but sometimes bad problem. Ok, I love how designers use their creative artistic minds to get their message through to mostly female shoppers; with the exception of the designers that target both men and women.

So what is it? They know that women ooh and awh over that beautiful Louboutin’s, that magnificent Marc Jacobs dress, that oh so wonderful Dolce and Gabbana dress and that Gorgeous Chanel bag. See what I mean? I get excited just writing about them. Also, the television media and print media have those great fashion writers and photographers that use their expertise in conveying their message as well to target women shoppers. Now sorry guys, I know there are a certain percentage of you who love to shop as well, but the statistics show that women make up the majority of all shoppers.

All I can say is, keep on doing what you’re doing designers and media because as long as we can continue to afford and buy, there will always be the “need” and “want” of those magnificent creations of art.
